Marrakech & Desert Explorer

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Arrive in Marrakech and transfer to your hotel. Start by visiting the famous Majorelle Garden and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. Explore the Marrakech Medina, including the vibrant Jemaa el-Fna Square, the Koutoubia Mosque (view from the outside), the Souks, and the Bahia and El Badi Palaces. Enjoy dinner at a traditional restaurant in the Medina.

Day 2: Marrakech - Day Trip Options

• Option 1: Marrakech - Ourika Valley (Atlas Mountains)

In the morning, depart for a day trip to the Ourika Valley, located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Take a walk through Berber villages and visit the beautiful Setti Fatma Waterfalls. Return to Marrakech in the afternoon and enjoy some free time to explore the city further.

• Option 2: Marrakech - Ouzoud Waterfalls

Alternatively, head to the Ouzoud Waterfalls, located about 2.5 hours from Marrakech. The waterfalls are one of Morocco’s most beautiful natural attractions, offering stunning views and an opportunity to explore the surrounding olive groves. You can take a walk down to the base of the falls, where you may encounter wild monkeys. Afterward, enjoy a relaxing lunch by the falls and return to Marrakech in the afternoon. Enjoy some free time to explore more of the city.

Day 3: Marrakech - Ouarzazate
Head out early in the morning to Ouarzazate, known for its film studios and proximity to Ait Benhaddou. Along the way, stop at the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass for amazing views of the Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival, visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Studios, where famous films like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia were shot. Stay overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Merzouga (Sahara Desert)
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, an ancient fortified kasbah. Continue your journey towards Merzouga, on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Arrive in the afternoon and embark on a camel trek to witness the breathtaking sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the night in a desert camp under the stars.

Day 5: Merzouga - Dades Gorges
In the morning, enjoy a short walk in the desert to catch the sunrise over the dunes. Then, depart for the Dades Gorges, a stunning canyon known for its dramatic landscapes. Stop along the way to visit small Berber villages and take in the desert scenery. Spend the night near the Gorges.

Day 6: Dades Gorges - Tundra Gorges - Marrakech
In the morning, head to the Tundra Gorges, an impressive area with narrow canyons and unique rock formations. Afterward, continue your journey back to Marrakech. Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy some free time to shop or relax.

Day 7: Marrakech - Full Day City Tour
Spend the entire day exploring Marrakech. Start with the Koutoubia Mosque (view from the outside), then visit the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace. Take time to stroll through the Jardin Menara and Le Jardin Secret. You can also visit the Ben Youssef Madrasa and the Marrakech Museum. In the evening, explore the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square and experience the lively atmosphere, street food, and performers.

Day 8: Essaouira Day Trip - Return to Marrakech
In the morning, take a day trip to Essaouira, a beautiful coastal town on the Atlantic Ocean. Stroll through the Essaouira Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its fortified walls and historic port. Visit the fish market, the souk, and the Skala de la Ville for stunning views. Enjoy a seafood lunch by the water and relax by the beach before returning to Marrakech in the evening.

Day 9: Marrakech - Free Day
Spend your final full day in Marrakech at your leisure. You could visit the Agdal Gardens, explore more of the souks, or relax at a traditional hammam spa. If you're interested in shopping, check out the artisan boutiques for unique Moroccan crafts or visit the Gueliz district for modern shopping. Enjoy a last dinner in Marrakech, perhaps with traditional music and entertainment.

Day 10: Departure
Enjoy your last moments in Marrakech with some free time for last-minute shopping or relaxing before your transfer to the airport for your flight back.
